Streetside started in 2019 with a pressure washer bought second-hand off a guy in Langley and a truck that already had 300,000 kilometres on it. The first year was mostly friends of friends and whoever answered the door on a Saturday.
It has grown since, but not into something unrecognisable. There is one van, and the person who prices your job is the person who does it. That is deliberate. The moment there are three crews and a call centre, the price goes up and the person on your driveway has never spoken to you.
Most exterior cleaning companies will not put a number anywhere you can find it, because a number can be compared. We would rather be compared. If someone quotes you less, they are either newer than us or they are skipping the pre-treatment, and you will know which within a year.
A pressure washer is a blunt instrument. On concrete it is exactly the right tool. On cedar it raises the grain, on shingles it strips the granules that keep the roof waterproof, and on siding it drives water into the wall cavity where you will not see the damage until winter.
So most of what we do is chemistry and patience rather than pressure. It takes longer. It is the reason the driveway on the front page still looked like that eighteen months later.
Streetside carries commercial general liability insurance and is registered with WorkSafeBC. We will send you the certificates before we book if you want to see them, and you should ask — a surprising number of outfits working residential driveways in this province carry neither.
Surrey, Cloverdale, South Surrey, White Rock, Delta and Langley. We will go further for a bigger job, but for a single driveway the drive has to make sense or the price stops being fair.
