About

Two generations, one mountain, a lot of rain.

Since 2008

Roofs 2,100 and counting

Where North Shore only

Crew Four, all employed, none subcontracted

Ridgeline started in 2008 doing gutters and small repairs off the back of a pickup. The re-roofs came later, once we had done enough inspections to know what actually fails here and why.

Why the inspection is free

Because most of the time the answer is "your roof is fine, clear the gutters and we'll see you in three years", and we would rather be the people who told you that than the people who charged you $200 to hear it.

It also means we see a lot of roofs, and seeing a lot of roofs is the only way anyone learns this trade. The photographs are yours to keep and to show to whoever else you're getting a price from.

Why we won't pressure wash a roof

People ask for it constantly, because it looks dramatic and it works for an afternoon. The granules on an asphalt shingle are what stop the sun destroying the mat underneath. Blast them off and you have traded a green roof for a shorter one.

We treat moss and let the weather take it. It looks worse for a few weeks. We'd rather lose the job than do it the fast way.

Why we only work the North Shore

Because we come back. A roof we did in 2011 is still ours to answer for, and being twenty minutes away is what makes that possible rather than a promise on a website.

Insurance and coverage

Commercial general liability insurance and WorkSafeBC registration. Ask for the certificates — from us and from anyone else you're considering. Roofing has more uninsured operators than any other trade in this province, and it is the one where a fall becomes your problem.

The inspection is free, and so is the report.

We go up, photograph everything, and tell you how long you've got. No charge, and no pressure afterwards.
