What we do

Four things, done properly.

Real starting prices. We confirm a fixed number after the inspection, and the inspection costs nothing either way.

Inspection & photo report

free

Every time, no conditions

We get on the roof, not look at it from the driveway, and photograph everything — ridge, valleys, flashing, penetrations, gutters and the attic if we can get into it. You get the photographs and a plain assessment of how many years are left, whether or not you use us.

What's included

  • On the roof, with photographs of what we find
  • Attic checked where there is access
  • A number of years, not a sales pitch
  • Yours to keep and to show anyone else

What we won't do

  • Anything on a roof too dangerous to walk
  • Structural engineering assessments

Moss treatment

from $450

Treated, never scraped

Moss is treated with a granular product and left for the weather to carry away over the following weeks. It looks worse before it looks better, and that is normal. We do not scrape it, and we will not pressure wash a roof for anyone at any price.

What's included

  • Treated and left to die back naturally
  • Gutters cleared afterwards
  • Zinc strip fitted at the ridge on request
  • Debris bagged and taken away

What we won't do

  • Pressure washing — it strips the granules
  • Scraping, which lifts the shingle edges
  • Instant results. It takes weeks.

Repairs & flashing

from $380

Where nearly every leak starts

Chimneys, skylights, vents, dormers and valleys. On any roof under twenty years old the leak is almost always the metal, not the shingles, so this is the first thing we look at and usually the last thing that needs doing.

What's included

  • Leak traced properly before anything is replaced
  • Flashing replaced, not tarred over
  • Matched shingles where any are lifted
  • Photographs before and after

What we won't do

  • Patching over somebody else's tar repair
  • Guaranteeing a roof that is past its life
  • Working in high wind

Full asphalt re-roof

from $12,500

Tear-off, new underlay, 30-year shingle

Old roof stripped to the deck, sheathing checked and replaced where it is soft, new synthetic underlay, new flashing throughout, and a laminated shingle with a thirty-year manufacturer warranty. Four to five days on an average North Shore house, weather permitting.

What's included

  • Stripped to the deck, never layered over
  • Rotten sheathing replaced and itemised
  • All flashing renewed, not reused
  • Site cleared and magnet-swept daily

What we won't do

  • Roofing over the top of the old roof
  • Fixed dates in November
  • Cedar shake replacement — we sub that out

Common questions

How long does a roof last here?
On the North Shore, an asphalt roof that gets its moss treated and its gutters cleared runs 20–25 years. One that doesn't can be finished in 15. The rain isn't what kills them — the moss is.
Do I need to be home?
Not for an inspection or for gutters. For a re-roof, someone should be around on the first morning so we can agree where the skip goes and how we're getting to the back.
Will you match my existing shingles?
For repairs we get as close as the manufacturer still makes. Be aware that a fifteen-year-old roof has faded, so a perfect match doesn't exist — anyone promising one is guessing.
What about the rain?
We work through rain for inspections and gutters. Tear-offs need a dry window, so a re-roof booked for November may move. We'd rather move it than open your roof up in a downpour.
Do you do cedar shakes?
We maintain and repair them. Full cedar replacement we hand to a specialist — it's a different trade and we'd rather say so.

The inspection is free, and so is the report.

We go up, photograph everything, and tell you how long you've got. No charge, and no pressure afterwards.
